What we do
Residential, automotive and commercial window film. One installer for all of it. Dany measures, quotes, installs and warranties every job personally.

Window Tinting
Frost tinting, one-way mirror film, solar heat reduction, decorative and safety film installed across Melbourne
A good film on a hot west-facing window can drop the surface temperature of the glass by ten degrees or more. It also blocks the UV that fades floors, art, and timber furniture. Privacy films do the same for street-facing rooms without changing how the window looks from inside.

Commercial Tinting
Office, shopfront, anti-graffiti, safety and security film
Commercial film does the same job as residential, scaled up. We tint shopfronts, offices, warehouse glazing, and meeting rooms. Anti-graffiti film over expensive shopfront glass pays for itself the first time someone reaches for a marker.

Automotive Tinting
Premium ceramic film for cars, utes and vans, tinted to legal VLT across Melbourne
There are three grades of automotive film and the difference is worth understanding before you spend money. Carbon is the cheap end, it fades after a few years and often turns purple. Ceramic is where the benefits actually become obvious. Nano-ceramic performs best and costs the most. We only fit ceramic and nano-ceramic, both block 99 per cent of UV, and both are tinted to Victorian legal VLT limits and backed by a lifetime film warranty.
Genuine film, warranted
Authorised dealer for the films that matter
Stay Shady is an authorised dealer for XPEL, SolarGard by Saint-Gobain, UltraGard and Black Armor. That means genuine film sourced direct, installs done to manufacturer spec, and a manufacturer warranty that actually stands behind the work, not grey imports with nobody to call.

Get shaded
Install day. A car takes two to four hours, a full house four to six. Site left clean.
Enjoy
Twelve-month workmanship warranty from day one, manufacturer film warranty on top. Film cures over a few days; a little haze early on is normal and clears itself.
Why it matters
Owner-operated means accountable
Bigger outfits send a salesperson to quote, a different installer to do the work, and nobody to answer the phone afterwards. If something goes wrong, each party points at the other.
When Dany measures your windows, he is the same person who fits the film and stands behind the warranty. One point of contact from quote to completion. That's the difference.

FAQ
Service questions
Heat is rejected at the glass, so the film does the work before the energy enters the room. A quality ceramic solar film can cut heat gain by 40 to 60 per cent, and the honest difference between film tiers is infrared rejection rather than UV, because every grade we fit blocks 99.9 per cent of UV including the cheapest one. For west and north-facing glass in Melbourne, that infrared number is what justifies paying more.
Sometimes, and it needs assessing rather than assuming. Standard solar film on a double-glazed unit can cause thermal stress, because the film absorbs heat, the inner pane warms unevenly and the sealed air gap expands. That can crack the glass or break the seal. We only use films specifically rated for double glazing and we look at every window before quoting. If a film isn't safe on your glass, we say so upfront rather than risk it.
No, and no film on the market will. Mirror film reflects whichever side is brighter, so in daylight the street sees a mirror and you see straight out. After dark that reverses: your lights are on, the street isn't, and the privacy is gone. If the room is used at night and overlooked, frosted film is the answer, because it obscures rather than reflects and works the same at every hour.
No. Dark is a look, not a requirement. There are near-clear films that cut heat and UV while leaving the window looking much as it does now, which is usually what people want on a front room they don't want to change the character of.
Twelve months on workmanship for every job we install. If a film edge lifts within that period we come back and fix it at no charge. Product warranties run separately through the manufacturer. Warranty depends on the film used on your job. We confirm the warranty for your specific product with your quote, or ask us any time.
